Year 7 and 8 Speech finals

This week we all sat and listened to some amazing speeches in our Year 7 class speech finals. Well done to every one of you!! I was blown away with the high-caliber speeches that you presented. You followed the steps and listened to advice during our writing workshops, which clearly paid off.

Next week on Wednesday (31st August) between 11:30am -12:40pm we will be conducting the Year 7 and 8 Speech Finals. From this we will select our two finalists to go forward and represent NCA at the Interschool Speech Competition on the 14th September.

Operation Christmas Child

Aka Samaritan’s Purse is coming around quickly.

What: You fill shoe boxes and send them to a drop off station nearby
Where: They will then be sent to one of the 130 selected countries somewhere in the world.
Why: So that millions of children also get to participate in Christmas, receive a special gift and feel very loved.
How: A team of selected people deliver them personally
When: The boxes need to be at the drop off points by October

This year NCA would love to be a part of this incredible course and filing some children’s hearts with love and joy to help ‘make their year’
Each classroom will have 2 boy and 2 girl boxes to fill. Please send your child to school with one or two items to donate along with a gold coin. (For postage)

Our Love Languages

During the first week we took the test to see what our love language was. We then found out what are friends love languages were and how we could meet the needs of these.

Tuesday 21 July 2015

We are reading Gangsta Granny by David Walliams at the moment as our class novel and we LOVE it!!!

Miss Hollis and confident readers sit on the reading chair and read a chapter after lunch.

Welcome back !
I hope that you had a great holiday. I enjoyed spending time with my two nephews Jack and Harlem and relaxing. I have an unusual addition to my family - her name is "Henrietta Hollis" and she has a crazy hair do! I adopted her during the school holidays.

She is scaring my other 11 chickens! I am hoping that they will be friends soon.                         From Miss Hollis
